Paul Knobloch

Paul Knobloch is an Australian choreographer, creative director, and ballet répétiteur, acclaimed for his mastery in ballet, contemporary dance, and theatre. His diverse portfolio includes contributions to stage, film, and television.

An honours graduate of The Australian Ballet School, Paul joined The Australian Ballet in 2002, swiftly rising to soloist before embarking on an international career. In 2009, he became a Principal Dancer with the prestigious Béjart Ballet Lausanne and has performed all over the world with notable companies such as the English National Ballet, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, West Australian Ballet, and Sydney Dance Company.

Throughout his dancing career, Paul has portrayed a wide range of principal roles in the classical repertoire and has earned admiration from leading choreographers who have entrusted him with creating a multitude of original works.

As a choreographer, he is recognised for his ability to blend classical and contemporary styles seamlessly. His dynamic and visually captivating performances have received critical acclaim, with The Herald Sun likening his work to that of the legendary Marius Petipa.

Paul's innovative vision has led to commissioned works for several esteemed companies such as The Australian Ballet, Queensland Ballet, Singapore Ballet, Ballet Victoria Canada, Ballet Theatre Malaysia, as well as prominent schools, festivals and institutions across Australia, Canada, and the USA.

Esteemed as a mentor, educator, and coach, Knobloch continues to help shape the next generation of artists and companies on a global scale, sharing his expertise as a guest teacher and coach with companies such as Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, Tokyo Ballet, Hong Kong Ballet, St Petersburg Ballet, and numerous leading schools and institutions.

Honoured in 2001 as the ACT Young Australian of the Year, Knobloch's career is adorned with accolades that speak to his relentless pursuit of excellence and innovation. Driven by insatiable curiosity and dedication to expanding dance's expressive potential, Knobloch continues to influence and inspire, serving as a freelance choreographer and coach and is a current répétiteur for The Australian Ballet's National tour and Storytime Ballet.
